Two young men and a simple wish.
Hilal was started by two young men with a simple wish: to bring faith a little closer to people's everyday lives. Not with a raised finger, but with something you can hold in your hands: a verse, a question, a few quiet minutes a day.

Why Hilal?
Hilal is the first thin crescent after the new moon. When it is sighted, Ramadan begins. To us it stands for a beginning: small, quiet and full of meaning.

Every Arabic verse is checked against quran.com. The English texts convey the meaning in plain words, and we say so openly.

No streaks, no guilt. If a day is missing, you simply carry on with the next one.

In two languages
In English and German, so the journal can also reach family and friends who speak another language.

For every journal sold, €1 goes to people in need. We collect the amounts and donate them together. We'll show openly here where the donations go as soon as the first one is made.
